@jac the yellow ethernet cable goes from the virgin hub to the TV box by the looks of it. But I know I need to uplug something and plug in in to the new router.
@jac don’t pay too much attention to the video I sent in terms of what color goes where as this won’t match. You should have one cable from the power line adapters on each side going into both the virgin hub and the Netgear router. You then use the sockets in the house to create the connection between the two.
It’s much simpler then you think, really
@phenomlab I’m just unsure where that blue cable goes . It must go into the virgin box but I don’t want to mess it up as the wife works from home .
@phenomlab will get the power adapters shortly.
I do apologise to anyone reading this thread, if you want a laugh this certainly is the thread to read .
@jac you won’t
@phenomlab ok… I’ve got the power line adapters now
Right so there’s the adaptor. So that needs to go into the virgin box? Or the Netgear box?
@jac so far I have… .
@jac should I just unplug the booster that’s currently in and use that port?
@jac yes. The only adapters that should be there when you’ve finished are the new power line ones.
@phenomlab Great. Thanks.
So I’ve plugged the blue cable into the virgin hub now. (Is that correct?)
I’ll now sort the power line adapter and remove the old virgin one.
@jac I wonder if something like this would be a good replacement if the Netgear one can’t be replaced?
@jac That’ll work the same way. The cracked power supply will work fine if you want to do a proof of concept. It looks like it’s been dropped, but it’s only dangerous if any of pins in the adapter are loose.
@phenomlab absolutely, one part seemed to feel loose mate yes.
I’ve requested a refund on return / new item to be sent.
We’ll see what happens. Unfortunately the virgin boosters are now unplugged but it should still work for now.
I need to wait to hear what they come back with although I am tempted to go through Amazon in the future as eBay sellers are hard to deal with .

Unfortunately when plugged in it actually was coming back out of the socket at the top mate.
@jac you can easily plug the boosters back in for now. Just remember that any replacement router you get needs to be cable modem based and not ADSL.
