@phenomlab That is an amazing page! Thanks for sharing that. Corentin did a great job with it.

With Facebook, WhatsApp and other dodgy social networks down users have flocked to Sudonix for some general honest chat .
-
@jac haha yep, they are down indeed.

Without reading into the facts have they been hacked?
-
@jac I doubt it. It’s probably due to a deployed fix not working as intended and failing regression testing or a third party service developing a fault.

Their DNS was/is horked up. I presumed they’re DNS admins had royally shot themselves in the foot. But maybe they just pointed stuff to localhost as a way to keep folks from hitting their fubar’d site.
In any event, hopefully the internet gods that be will give 'em the grand spanking they deserve!

I only use it now and again to keep in touch with distant family but I couldn’t care less if it disappeared and never came back.

@jac Exactly that. It’s the signature facility in core slightly modified to suit.

@jac Me neither.

I think you may have replied in the wrong thread mate, but it definitely looks great and let’s everyone know who the content belongs to. Great idea
-
@jac Nope. I didn’t

Thinking about this a bit further it occurs to me that the DNS was likely purposefully pointed to localhost so as to keep billions of users experiencing dopamine withdrawals from bombarding fb every few minutes whilst they scrambled to fix whatever. And were I a betting man, I’d say odds are they got hacked again. Going to be interesting to see how they spin doctor this one.
-
@gotwf A bit more (perhaps) spin on this from SKY News
My 2c here is that this could well have been a DDoS attack from an entity like Anonymous in response to the Whistleblowing claims mentioned in this article

@phenomlab Meh, you ain’t seen nothin’ yet… Today’s testimony, which I watched live, is tame as a newborn puppy. Comparatively. Check this out. If you’ve the stomach. Be forewarned, some some sick 'chit crosses the “content analysts” desks
