@phenomlab Although Steve Jobs had a more ambitious personality, I believe he knew the importance of being constructive… I think he would not approve of this ad based on destructiveness…
@crazycells Neither do I. Personally, I think he would have been mortified at the very concept, and probably would never have approved it’s release.
I just watched that ad, and thought it was terrible. I see that they took it down. I thought oh there is big tech smashing all things that are free thinking, creative and inspiring. I have never been an Apple fan. Their stuff is way to proprietary and they have things so locked down that heaven forbid you try thinking outside the box. I will give them that if you are one of their fans, that you can just plug in apple products together and everything will just work. I will give them that, but that is it.
You can do so much more with an Android and a PC than you are able to do with an Apple. The only way I would use one is if I worked for a company and didn’t have a choice in using it. Other than that, give me a PC/Laptop and throw Linux on it. Grudgingly I will use Windows on them, but preferred is Linux.
They could have done so much better with advertising their product. They could have uplifted all of those things to have inspired them to create what they created. They could have honored those items. Those items have inspired so much of our history, from music to even what programming is today and how things are made.
It doesn’t surprise me that someone in their company came up with a shitty commercial like that one. They just want to crush everything that makes this world what it is today. At least they had some smarts and took it down and rethought the commercial.
@Madchatthew I think they only took it down because of the amount of complaints they received.
Apple’s vision of perfection and replacement is clearly not shared.

Very true and I am glad it isn’t shared.
@Madchatthew I refuse to be locked into the apple ecosystem. Nothing more than Linux in an expensive suit.

I 100% agree with this!
I had an iPhone about 12 years ago, I generally don’t see the fascination with Apple products, they are completely overpriced for starters and I’ll never ever buy an Apple product again.
@JAC I use one for work because that’s our standard, but aside from that, I’d never have one through choice. My wife swears by them and refuses to use anything else as does my daughter.
I maintain two devices - one for work which is corporate and managed, and Samsung S23 for personal.
My daughter needed a new tablet, which was an older Samsung. My wife wanted to get her an Ipad. Fortunately, I was able to talk her out of that and show her how much better an android tablet would be. Preferably the Samsung S9 Ultra tablet. By the way, that thing is outstanding! Great purchase!
