Interesting and sweet โfsck youโ side benefit is that not only does adnauseam drown the the big data ad servers in data it also costs the advertisers who subscribe to such services, as they must then pay the sites you visit โclick thruโ rates rather than mere โimpression ratesโ, the latter of which are essentially zero modern days? Hence, not only is one confounding the data of the provider but also hitting their subscribers in both the pocket and marketing efficacy books.
A complex topic for sure. You thoughts?

@jac Iโve used this myself in the past, but admittedly not do much these days. I much prefer being behind a VPN.

@jac No, I do not. Although I kind of like the ideas behind it. Winning the ad/big data arms race is not going to happen even with use of VPN. All we can do is raise the bar.
The adnauseam approach may offer a bit of a warm fuzzy feeling in that โthe victimsโ finally have some chance to play offense. I is a plugin so I suppose one could enable/disable as the mood strikes.
Just tossed that up here fwiw. Had my head into some other things as of late. Be interesting to see how much a drag on performance behind the scene advert clicks incur - both network and local resources side.

Watched the first few mins and then bizarrely had a chat request on Facebook (believe me I donโt use it, I probably go on it once a fortnight if that to see how the family are etc) anyway the person requesting a chat seemed to send me a link to a dodgy X rated website that I of course didnโt click, but funnily enough as I was watching that first little bit I did think to myself what on earth am I doing with a Facebook account
.@jac I got as far in as 7:16, where I just closed it. This is completely incomprehensible that this sort of content was even posted in the first place, let alone be left there for others to view. Truly shocking.

However , you have to have pity on those who wouldnโt be able to post what they were having for lunch, or that pointless post around a venue theyโve checked into that nobody really cares aboutโฆ

.I wonโt touch it nowadays and havenโt for a few years, the only one I look at now and again is X (Twitter) but I just feel social media is no longer for me, Iโd happily get rid of them all ๐คฏ.

Iโve done pretty much that already. Hardly use any of them these days. Never really was a social media fan anyway so donโt miss it at all.

Pretty much the same for me Mark, I donโt understand peopleโs pleasure in starting arguments or posting what theyโve just done five seconds ago, itโs all very tedious isnโt it.

@JAC yeah, Iโve never seen the appeal. I tried to get into LinkedIn a while back and then gave up because itโs just chock full of people who have far too much time on their hands telling anyone who will listen about how great they are and what they have achieved.
Actions speak louder than words.
