  • Hello

    We have a lot of custom émojis on nodebb.

    Sometines we have emojis not loading properly, sometimes they lload corretly after refresh

    I think about a problem of nginx conf maybe, or cache, or Cloudflare but i’m not sure and I don’t know with what to begin my research

    An idea about that ?

    Thanks to communauty 😉

  • I delete them now and same result i nincgnito.
    –> I delete all rate config on nginx configuration and it seems to be better now. Can you test now @phenomlab ?

    but it bothers me, I would have liked to keep nginx protection against flood/ddos attacks with nodebb

    Need to find the right setting.

    @DownPW I like a challenge 😄. I’ll take a look at this tomorrow.

  • @DownPW you’re getting HTTP error 429, which is a rate limit message - your IP is being restricted in terms of what it has access to from the Emoji source perspective

    @DownPW Yes, working now. At a guess, I’d say your ratelimit settings in nginx.conf are too restrictive.

    @phenomlab

    If you have better values rate limit settings for nginx I take it m’y friend

    @DownPW sure. Let me have a look at this in more detail. I know nginx plus has extensive support for this, but it’s not impossible to get somewhere near acceptable with the standard version.

    You might be better off handling this at the Cloudflare level given that it sits in between the requesting client and your server.

    @Panda said in Smart Widgets: So why is that, or conversely why would the function to expose username ever be required, as it seems app.user is already an available global object? It is, yes, but not if you are using it outside of a widget. The function I wrote is also historical and comes from the 2.x train

    @cagatay this relates to a change the css classes used for the brand header meaning it will now float to the left instead of right. If you’d like to retain the original behavior, you can add this css class [data-widget-area="brand-header"] { justify-content: end; display: flex; } Further information here https://community.nodebb.org/topic/17090/manual-build-a-custom-header-in-harmony/19?_=1684069325296

    @cagatay You could experiment with nodebb-plugin-ns-embed but I expect the x-origin tag on the remote site to prevent playback.

    @pwsincd I think you can use userData.isAdmin = isAdmin; if I’m not mistaken - see https://community.nodebb.org/topic/15128/how-to-hide-whitelist-user-field-only-to-owner-or-admin?_=1648802303112 for an example

    @downpw I’m inclined to agree with this. There isn’t much else you can do, and provided it works with no odd looking artefacts in other browsers, then ok. The :before and :after are pseudo classes and very well supported across all browsers (except perhaps Internet Exploder, but who uses that these days ?)
