hello everyone, i am in a state where i could not come to one conclusion about my forum name
for example, I have a company called “Vodafone” and I have a forum running in the name of ask.vodafone.com
Should I name my forum (SEO name) as Ask Vodafone or Vodafone Community or Vodafone Forum
in this context for example my forum supports a telecommunication learning community and also sometimes we use it to make announcements
currently, my forum main page title is Ask Vodafone
ask.vodafone.com/any_discussion
page title is : Any question | Ask Vodafone
should I leave the site name as “Ask Vodafone” for this subdomain? or calling it something like “Vodafone Forum” would be nice?
@Hari My personal choice would be “Community”.
Here’s why
a public meeting place for open discussion
a group of people with a common characteristic or interest living together within a larger society
As you can see, “Community” sounds more inclusive and friendly if you use the common English definition.
@phenomlab thanks for your inputs, word forum is more cache than the word community … we went forward with the word “Forum”
@Hari how does Vodafone community SEO rank in percentage? You know anyone who takes months to plan on something they usually make mistakes a good example bank robberies.
Ask Vodafone is okay to me
@Sala not sure you can use bank robbery here as an analogy. Clearly, being an illegal activity, that automatically comes with inherent risk (not that I’ve ever committed a back robbery of course) with several unknown factors to work around or at least some form of mitigation in place
On the flip side, I really don’t understand the furore seeking SEO. In my case, I couldn’t care less how sudonix ranks and I’ve made absolutely no effort in this area. The growth this site already has is solely organic. SEO is an already overcrowded space with an overload of contenders for the same keywords and Google ranking, and you could spend literally hundreds of hours and thousands of pounds in the process chasing a holy grail that in fact is already outside of your reach.
My opinions obviously, but my advice to go with that is not to invest everything you have in Google ranking. High quality content will take care of that for you.
after trying multiple scripts & technology I can say mostly it’s all about SSR and good link juice + content and the rest is decided by the user (bounce rate)
@Hari in my view (and experience), content is king. I personally return to sites because of their content - not back links, or SEO strategy. A great example of this is a YouTube channel - in this case, it’s not search engine optimisation, but the content itself that makes it viral.
There’s news that they already sacked a batch of employees; people are going to face it rough. For me, SEO is something you leave to God. Because you can be on the first page for a month, then nowhere to be found again, or ranked in a totally different region. And worse, those computers they use are not monitored, but at least the main site brand will stick.
