Yes that is very awesome and I really like that idea! Great job with thinking that up!!
AI... A new dawn, or the demise of humanity ?

Chatbot ‘encouraged teen to kill parents over screen time limit’. Wow
WTF? I think this whole company needs to be shut down and all of the data and servers deleted. It just keeps happening with this company and I think they can just be done.
-
@Madchatthew finally something positive about the effective use of AI.

Someone speaks up about a huge company that they are doing wrong and then person ends up committing suicide
This lends itself perfectly to a movie plot! Reminds me of the Pelican Brief.

For sure!
-
And so it starts. Apple AI creates fake headline
-
@phenomlab oh wow . That’s laughable.
-
@phenomlab now this is funny, I have to admit!
-
-
@phenomlab Now what would have been interesting is if they left it and that team actually did win. Now then would the AI be wrong or just predicted the future hahaha
-
@Madchatthew he did win, but the result was released before the match had even ended! Good prediction, but still wrong nonetheless from the timing perspective.
-
@phenomlab yeah, I wonder if it was making a prediction based on numbers and the season or if they told it to create that article in case that team won? Could AI use all of the data to predict a win like that and write an article or specifically be told to write an article with that team winning.
Either way, it doesn’t really matter because it shouldn’t have been released before the end of the game. So that also makes me wonder, why would they have AI writing articles for them and automatically releasing them to the public with being checked first?
-
@Madchatthew and there lies the problem. AI clearly predicted the results, which in this case were correct based on previous matches, but the article release should have at least waited until the result was announced.
-
@phenomlab Yeah I 100% agree with you.
-
@Madchatthew I think this approach could still work though - for example, check the results first before you publish the article - not performing this simple task will destroy Apple’s status as a reputable news source - if it hasn’t already.
-
@phenomlab You would think they would have someone that checks these before they are actually released and are like, oh wait, we need to hold this until the actual game is done. It is a great way to have an article already written and done to save time and be the first out there to notify people about. But they just need that one more step in there haha
I have never considered Apple a reputable news source. They are to influenced by the government along with some of the other big tech companies.

A bit like the BBC then!

Yes, that’s logic, which sadly seems to be lacking in this case. I totally get wanting to be the first out there, but not before you even have the final result. Just madness.

Yeah, because you know, why have logic and common sense be involved. Not part of their job description apparently.
