Yes that is very awesome and I really like that idea! Great job with thinking that up!!
AI... A new dawn, or the demise of humanity ?

@Madchatthew Yes, I think you might be right - particularly for the “nay sayers” - those who want to discredit AI completely without even considering the huge benefits on offer.
-
@phenomlab and you can also install AI on your own personal computer/server and have it so it can only access things that you want it to access. So you have your own personal AI that is private. You can give it access to all of the things you have written, code or whatever have you and it can be very powerful with helping you do and complete things. And then you don’t even have to worry about other people getting access to your AI data or your data being shared with others.
-
@Madchatthew Good points. Mind you, without input from other sources, this version of AI would have limited efficiency and would need to rely on one information source.
-
@phenomlab yes that is true. It would only be able to help with whatever information you give it. I’m wondering if it can be connected to the outside world or if you can give it a web address and tell it to learn everything on that site and then go from there? Although a lot of the libraries that you can download they have already done that.
I might have to see about finding a link tomorrow that shows how they install it along with the library you want to use.
-
@phenomlab That is a good article. Thank you!

Interestingly, I’ve tried this with ChatGPT before, which then states it’s unable to parse from a url. Not sure if that’s a limitation of the free version though.
-
@phenomlab Oh nice, I didn’t realize you could do that with ChatGPT. It would be interesting to see if with the models you can download if you can tell it to scrape a website and learn from it, or tell it to watch a video and learn from it. I am thinking no, but would be kinda fun to find out.
-
@Madchatthew Yes., I’ve tried this, and none of those types of questions seem to work.

Researchers have discovered a huge Google Cloud Storage bucket, found freely accessible on the internet and containing a treasure trove of personal information.
AI startup WotNot provides companies with the ability to create their own customized chatbot. The company reportedly has 3,000 customers including some household family names.
But the way its solution is set up introduces an extra link in the chain in the flow of personally identifiable information (PII) from the customer to the company that deployed the chatbot, leaving an additional risk of exposure.

@phenomlab oh wow, that is crazy! Another reason not to use other peoples AI.

Innocent victims of AI fake nudes
-
@phenomlab unfortunately, I think there is going to be more and more of that as AI get more and more advanced. They can make videos with AI generated people that sound and look and act like the person they are imitating. I have a feeling that nude videos aren’t that far behind if they aren’t being done already.
-
@Madchatthew Yes, I think it’s already happened to Taylor Swift, and several other stars. Horrible.
-
@phenomlab yeah that is horrible and people don’t deserve that to happen to them.
-
@Madchatthew I heard a rumour that this would be treated in the same manner as revenge porn - not sure if that is still the case.

-
@phenomlab Yes, I think it should be in that same category, even if it isn’t meant to be malicious. It is one thing is someone chooses to take their own photos/videos or have someone film or take pictures for them due to consent or wanting to do that for themselves for whatever reason and having that done to you without your knowledge or as in the article as revenge. I think people should be charged for doing that sort of thing.

They are in the UK. It’s a criminal offence and attracts a custodial sentence.
