Virgin Media Broadband

@phenomlab Great. Thanks.
So I’ve plugged the blue cable into the virgin hub now. (Is that correct?)
I’ll now sort the power line adapter and remove the old virgin one.

@jac I wonder if something like this would be a good replacement if the Netgear one can’t be replaced?

@jac That’ll work the same way. The cracked power supply will work fine if you want to do a proof of concept. It looks like it’s been dropped, but it’s only dangerous if any of pins in the adapter are loose.

@phenomlab absolutely, one part seemed to feel loose mate yes.
I’ve requested a refund on return / new item to be sent.
We’ll see what happens. Unfortunately the virgin boosters are now unplugged but it should still work for now.
I need to wait to hear what they come back with although I am tempted to go through Amazon in the future as eBay sellers are hard to deal with

Unfortunately when plugged in it actually was coming back out of the socket at the top mate.

@jac you can easily plug the boosters back in for now. Just remember that any replacement router you get needs to be cable modem based and not ADSL.

@jac Yeah, that’s not good or safe. Get a refund.
-
@phenomlab I think it may be best mate definitely.
Sorry to mither you mate, what would you recommend from Amazon around that price that will do the same job please?

@jac no issues. That’ll work fine. In fact, your getting quite a bit for a reasonable cost - good find

Great!
So you think this will do the job? If so I’ll go ahead and order now that I’ve started a return / refund with the faulty one.

Does it make more sense to use this as an extender then or as main hub?

@jac it’s going to be an access point in it’s own right. The virgin media hub is the main component and that’s not changed.
