@jac you can easily plug the boosters back in for now. Just remember that any replacement router you get needs to be cable modem based and not ADSL.

Does it make more sense to use this as an extender then or as main hub?

@jac it’s going to be an access point in it’s own right. The virgin media hub is the main component and that’s not changed.

Ok mate if you’re available I may need some help for a few minutes if that’s ok?
So I plug the cable from the virgin box into the WAN port on the new router?
@jac No. Do the following
- Plug one powerline adapter into the wall next to the Virgin Hub
- Plug a network cable into the powerline adapter you just plugged in, and then plug the other end of the cable into the Virgin Hub (any free port)
- Plug the remaining powerline adapter into the wall in the room where you want the router to live
- Plug a network cable into the powerline adapter you just plugged in, and then plug the other end of the cable into the new router into the WAN port
- Power on the router (and powerline adapters if you haven’t already)
Let me know when you are finished with that

So this doesn’t need to be downstairs with the virgin router?

@jac No. You need one at the “Virgin End” and one at the “Router end” as I specified in the list above

.@jac Do you have login access to your Virgin Hub ? We need to ensure that this new router has collected a network address from the hub itself (which it should have done)
