I tried CyberGhost. Their speeds were bad, and I could get better elsewhere.
The top 3 I’ve found are:
Express VPN, Nord VPN & Surfshark which is pretty much how they rank across most VPN reviews.

Yes, the same for Nord VPN - except for a quite annoying bug in Android where the VPN suddenly stops sending traffic and you have to stop and restart it.
For whatever reason it keeps disconnecting so that’s me I’ve requested a refund, the product isn’t fit for purpose, their speeds we’re great but that defeats the object. It had disconnected without notice leaving my connection exposed!! - Nord does this sometimes too!
I may try out CyberGhost. I’ve looked into pretty much all of them now
still a big fan of Express VPN but will always look for the next best thing and unfortunately aside from Nord that does appear to be Surfshark which is a big of a let down too if it won’t stay connected.@JAC said in KeepSolid VPN Unlimited DEAL:

Managed to fix this issue, the kill switch feature wasn’t working properly so I’ve simply turned it off so when I reconnect the internet it connects again as it should.

@JAC Yes, the killswitch is for those users who are “paranoid” - it works well, but not in all instances.

Absolutely, I doubt I’ll need it really, it’s helpful but if it doesn’t work effectively it’s pointless.

I’ve just got rid of Surfshark after testing it for a few weeks there’s certainly a few faults with the kill switch feature.
I went for a two year deal at Proton
. So far so good

Apologies for the huge delay in getting back…
I did indeed have to get rid of Proton. I’m now enjoying using Nord & Express VPN with a Surfshark subscribe too for the family.

Unfortunately there wasn’t any settings for the Proton app on Nvidia Shield so this was a no no, don’t get me wrong it did work well but without any settings it’s really pointless.
All other apps do this well so I’m happy to be using the top three VPN services I some way

@JAC I think these are cheap because they are selling your info… and this is their primary way to earn… although they say “no log”, there is usually no way to check…
I believe one thing to check with these VPN services should be “warrant canary” , if they are making canary statements regularly, then they are on your side (at least that is what I want to believe
, what do you think @phenomlab ?), but if their canary is dead, then you can stop using them because there is government intervention.I was using one of this cheap lifetime service 5-6 years ago, but I stopped using it after their canary was dead.

I’d agree yes, admittedly I wouldn’t touch these sort of deals myself.
I’d rather go for one that’s popular, tried and tested, although all are going to have their own flaws one way or another, there’s always something that people don’t like but good principles and the one that makes you feel most at ease of using is a good start.

Exactly that - none of them are going to suit every individual purpose. You have to read the reviews, decide what functionality you need, and then make a judgement call for yourself (and your own unique needs).
There is no “wrong or right”, although I would steer clear of those that do not have a no-logs policy for privacy reasons alone.
