I have an update regarding this. They both said that they are getting used to navigating Fedora and that it is working great for them so far. They said there is still a bit of a learning curve they are going through but overall happy.

@Madchatthew And let this be a testament to anyone else looking to transition out from Windows to Linux. It’s perfectly possible with some minor changes to how you use a computer

@Madchatthew And let this be a testament to anyone else looking to transition out from Windows to Linux. It’s perfectly possible with some minor changes to how you use a computer
@phenomlab and she has never used linux before. I have been able to give her step by step directions on how to do some things and that is over texting. Trust me, if my mom can keep Arch Linux up and running on 5 computers, then anyone can use Linux.
She is doing a great job!

I was reading the last previous post and I have to clarify that I stated my mom, but I was meaning my mother and father-in-law. And I want to also mention that my father-in-law knows nothing about computers and my mother-in-law new more about computers but since then she’s had a couple of small strokes and is still being very successful with linux. So if there’s any doubt that anybody can switch from Windows to Linux they should put that doubt aside now and go ahead and make the switch.

I have to give an update on this. I talked to my father in law a week or two ago when he was visiting and he updated me that Fedora Linux was still treating them good. He said he really liked it and that my mother in law is liking it as well. He even said that he came across a couple of minor issues and was able to solve them on his own. I thought wow, that is awesome!
So I am going to say with all confidence right now, that if those two can switch to Linux from Winblows that ANYONE can switch.
