Ouch. As if being duped out of your hard earned money isn’t bad enough, there’s a tidal wave of mockery afterwards.
She was featured in a report on our French TV stations but they shared images and information without her knowledge during the investigation and she is now being harassed on all the networks. This lady had already attempted suicide before this affair and she has just been interned in a psychiatric hospital.

This is truly awful. They (the media) had absolutely no right whatsoever to do this to her. She has effectively been ridiculed and vilified - it’s like finding someone guilty without any trial. None of this is acceptable in any form and needs to be stopped. If anything happens to this poor woman, the media should be facing at least a manslaughter charge.
I hope she gets the care she needs.

@phenomlab just grosses me out that anyone is even interested in child stuff. The laws should reflect the same as if that AI generated image were a real child.
So I should probably be thrown in a wood chipper and it hurts my soul to even bring this up. Could something like this by using AI help to deter actual real person Child stuff? I honestly don’t think so, and in fact I think it would just help those predators to plan for the real deal. Other thoughts?

@Madchatthew this reminds me of a film I watched only recently where a software developer created an AI platform that impersonated a child and was used to snare perverts, called The Artifice Girl
I would support an algorithm like that.

@phenomlab I mean look what AI can do already with fooling people that they are a real person, and convincing people to do something they shouldn’t and even using AI to plan attacks and such. If you were to get an AI that was unchecked and trained it right, it could be pretty bad.
Of course there could be a good side but it seems like there are more factors to make sure of that than making it bad.

@Madchatthew exactly. Have you seen the video (Slaughterbots) in the first post? It’s obviously fictional, but a reminder of a very reallistic scenario if we had in that direction.

@phenomlab I did watch it before and I just watched it again. That is so crazy that that is even a thing and I wonder if stuff like that should even be made. Of course they say, well you can take out half a city, well the bad half. But who is determining who the bad half is at any point. That can also change on a daily basis. Start getting those local emps ready to fire in case you start seeing those things buzzing around. That is insane.

@phenomlab wow that is insane. With friends like that who need enemies. Nothing is sacred anymore, and makes me think that all photos and everything should be taking off the internet. All someone has to do is get access to a photo of you or a family member of yours to create garbage like this.

@phenomlab If I knew how to draw and be an artist, or even know how to duck tape a banana to a wall and found out that AI was stealing my work, I would be mad too.
