Having recently experienced the loss of a family member, this literally sent a shiver up and down my spine.
To me, it’s morally wrong on every level to even consider this, but I’m open to debate.
Eternal You tells the story of a human experiment: what does it do to people to resurrect their deceased loved ones in order to talk to them? Who takes responsibility for the psychological and ethical consequences? And do we even want all this?
@phenomlab my initial reaction is wtf, I feel all frustrated all of a sudden .
Some people may be open to the idea but I certainly think it’s strange to say the least .

Seems very odd to sue a company you co founded…
@phenomlab he’s off his head .
@phenomlab In regard to the Eternal You, there is a movie that was made about this. First it starts off with phone messaging, then phone calls and then she orders a robot human that looks like her husband. They have the AI use all of the social media posts and give it extra information and it learns from what she says. I think ultimately it was a horror movie but you it is crazy that they are actually doing that. People need to grieve and move on. Not forget of course, but move on and grow.
@phenomlab Is it me or do these big corporate lawsuits just mainly mean that someone wants something from another company or to use the lawsuit as leverage to get what they want, whether it be money or what have you. Do you think he really cares about whether or not a monopoly is being done, or just tying up their resources while he has something in the background that he is planning.
It seems like these corporate lawsuits always have another motives behind them. I don’t have any examples of course, but just curious what others thought in that regard.
@Madchatthew Yes, exactly. I don’t think this is healthy at all. Part of life is death, and having recently been through that process myself, I know how hard it is to come to terms with, but it’s an essential part of the healing process. As you say, you never forget, but you have to move forward as you can’t go backwards.
@Madchatthew Great points. I agree - I think this is just an opportunity to derail any progress they are making to pave the way for his own competitive product.

Yeah that is what I was thinking as well. It is too bad they have to tie up the courts and resources with all that stuff, when you know there is someone sitting in jail that needs to have their trial but the judge is busy having to take time to play babysitter with that kind of stuff. Maybe there are different judges that handle those cases, but still.
